When I was in the service I learned a couple of expressions that fit this crew to a T. The first was “They could f— up an anvil with a rubber mallet.” The second was “They can f— up an iron ball with a feather duster.”
Since I did not invent these and the person or people that did are lost in historical obscurity, you may use either. If the Chaplain or, perhaps small children are within earshot, you might substitute the word break in there. It’s not quite as pithy but we do what we must do to maintain a modicum of class.
I need to get out more, I never have the chance to use swell words like “modicum” anymore.
