When I attended CPAC for the first time last year, I had only been blogging about seven weeks and I had only been a fiscal conservative for about five months. A post by Stacy McCain on “How to Get a Million Hits on Your Blog in a Year” led to my writing a post about Little Miss Attila and commenting at her site. She was intrigued and invited me to coffee at CPAC, which gave me the courage to sign up for all three days and attend. Attila also introduced me to Stacy at CPAC and vouched for his character. I am so very grateful to both of them for their kindness and support this past year. And I am looking forward to taking Attila out to dinner to have a nice chat and thank her. Stacy lives closer, so I’ll have the opportunity to buy him a beer another time.
Update, 2/16/2010, Tues.: Holy cow! Obi’s Sister has the most awesome link round-up of official bloggers for CPAC 2010! She was wonderful to me at CPAC last year and it will be a joy to see her again this year and talk heirloom tomatoes.
Well, good for you! Do give LMA a hug and a kiss on the cheek and tell her it’s from me.
Peter,
That will definitely be my cover story for the hug and the kiss!
Cynthia
Congrats!
Congratulations! That’s awesome!
.-= Rose´s last blog ..Italian doctor may have found surprisingly simple cure for Multiple Sclerosis =-.
Rose,
Thank you!
Cynthia
Hopefully my feet won’t hurt so much this year!
Alas, the “heirloom” Mr. Stripey I bought at Home Depot was an epic fail. Even with our rainy summer.
See ya, wow, tomorrow!
Obi’s Sister,
Mr. Stripey is less of an heirloom tomato and more of a cruel trick/hazing ritual sold to put people off of heirloom tomatoes. If you get any, they look pretty, but bi-color tomatoes are quite variable in their flavor and can be rather bland. Home Depot has started to carry some of the better heirloom varieties, though.
See you soon!
Cynthia
I don’t know that I vouched for his character! I think I said he knew everyone, and–deep down–had a good heart.
You know: when he isn’t deluding himself that he’s the second coming of Hunter S. Thompson.
.-= Little Miss Attila / Joy McCann´s last blog ..Golden =-.
Joy,
Well, I took that as vouching for his character! And, for once, being Southern worked in his favor — I had faith his Southern upbringing would make him a “do right” kind of guy and that turned out to be so.

Take pudding, lot’s of pudding.
Glad to have read in your last post that you have someone caring for your Dad. (Silly me……I was worried for him when I heard you were going to CPAC.) It’s truly amazing just how far you and this site have come in little more than a year. You are breathing rarefied air these days!
Ad rem,
I spent last night in D.C. with my friend, Genius Artist D.C., but I’m home tonight. Dad is well and has enjoyed his time with with his grandson. Awesome Nephew will be back tomorrow morning and I will head down to D.C. bright and early.
For readers who want to see the main CPAC meetings live, Townhall is carrying them. Andrew Breitbart is speaking at 9 am. I’ve spent most of my time in smaller meetings and getting to know other bloggers or re-connect. Last year Bloggers’ Row was folding tables shoved together to make a big enough table to seat 40 bloggers tops. This year the Bloggers’ Lounge is a large room and balcony, all overlooking the main hall, set up with big flat-screen monitors. It also seats about 100 bloggers AND they actually check our credential before letting us in!
I’ll write more when I get home tomorrow night.
Cynthia
Nice. Hope you had fun. Congrats. Looks like a good time has been had by all at CPAC 2010.
