These parodies both made the rounds awhile back and I regretted not featuring them, partly because they are so true and partly because I was a newspaper reporter for the Harford Democrat from 1980 to 1982. Newspaper reporters envy local TV reporters their salaries and glamor, but do not respect them because their “reporting” generally consists of patching together clips of newspaper stories. I doubt much has changed since then except that the pool of reporters from whom to plagiarize has gotten much smaller as newspapers cut back, or fold.
