Iowahawk has a re-post — which is not the same as a riposte — that is exceedingly timely, given North Korea’s missile launch this week, in which he announces conducting a “successful above-ground nuclear missile test explosion.”
Which reminds me, I am totally going to post a video of my father reminiscing about participating in an actual atomic bomb test in Nevada in the 1950’s — the second I have iMovie figured out — since his 93rd birthday is coming up and so far all I have to give him is his own blog, http://www.hubertpyockey.com, which I haven’t quite finished yet.
Where was I? Oh, yes, now that he has nuclear capability, Iowahawk has demands:
The aim of the Iowahawk nuclear fireworks program is clear: to contribute to defending the peace and stability all about the blogosphere, and the area around it, if the blogosphere knows what is good for it. And what is good for blogosphere is also clear: more linky-linky for Iowahawk….
Link to this post now, or be dealt a thousand-time blow of fresh nuclear Missouri M-80 retaliation! All imperialist stooge traitors of TypePad and Blogger and WordPress must now bow down before the greatness of Iowahawk and his merciless arsenal of peaceful stability rockets. Our diplomatic peace demands are clear:
* One thousand trackbacks
* 10 million pageviews
* 50 cases of OE 800Take heed, blackhearted reactionaries of international blog non-linking, for this is your final warning! All those who foolishly refuse to contribute to peaceful blogospheric cooperation through trackbackery will taste the hot sting of Iowahawk’s radioactive weapons of singlehearted unity!
I hereby pledge linky-linky by both post and newsfeed for Iowahawk not only in recognition of his comic genius but also his perspicacity in recognizing my thoughts in 2008 about starting a blog.
Oh, I should mention that while Iowahawk is in my newsfeed (the column on the right with all the blog names and headlines in it), I have not yet figured out why his alone will not update. I tried all three of his newsfeed URLs and still no updating. However, if you click on “Iowahawk” in the newsfeed, it will take you to his home page.
I think he works alone… a lot of the tech is not up to date.
Abu,
Iowahawk’s tech is not up-to-date because he wrote it a few years ago and re-published it because it did not need to be re-written to apply to North Korea’s rocket launch.
About the mosaic I use in my banner — it’s Sappho and I think it was found when Pompeii was re-discovered and unearthed. Since Sappho is the first famous Lesbian (capital “L” since she was from Lesbos), and she was a poet and is holding a pen and book, I thought she was the perfect image to use when I created the banner for my blog. Thanks for the praise — I’m glad you like it.
Cynthia
