Watershed: Al Sharpton says Americans voted for socialism by electing Obama

Sharpton on Fox to Geraldo Rivera right after the passage of the Obamacare healthcare reform bill on 3/21/10: “I think that this began the transforming of the country the way the president had promised. This is what he ran on. First of all we have to say that the American public overwhelmingly voted for socialism when they elected Pres. Obama.”

OK, the way I remember Sharpton spinning Obama before Sunday night is denying that Obama is a socialist. However, remember that very few liberals/Leftists understand socialism so all they see is the free lunch without considering that it comes at the cost of liberty, individuality and the conditions required to allow individuals to make the most of themselves. So for Lefties to understand that socialism is going to cramp their style beyond their worst nightmares, we need to pair this video with the insights in Hayek’s The Road to Serfdom.

  1. This is fascism, exactly as Mussolini practiced it. We are forced to buy a product provided by private companies with threats of fines or imprisonment for failure to submit.

I, as a gay Jew, do not feel comfortable with my health insurance, and ultimately my health care, in the hands of people who will stab Israel in the back, engage in “dialogue” with a country where homosexuality is punishable by death, and fight to keep gay couples unequal under the law.

We already fought one war to stop slavery in this country.

    1. As far as I’m concerned, any Jew who continues to vote Democrat or for any leftist party is a kapo. The left has always sold the Jews down the river in spite of their support. Just ask Karl Marx and Joe Stalin what they thought of the Jews. Find out how gays fared under communist countries. And find out what European so-called “social democracies” (socialist shells of their former selves) do about victims of gay-bashing and Jew-bashing at the hands of unassimilated Muslim immigrants who exploit their welfare states.

Leftists love the use of force. I was talking to a self-declared socialist in my gym who insisted that if it was okay for states to force you to buy car insurance (I got news for you: It’s not okay for any government to compel you to purchase a product.), then it was okay to force you to buy insurance. He was also in favor of government taking over the oil companies, just like Hugo Chavez (side note: I refuse to see the movie “Milk” because of Sean Penn’s support for this anti-gay thug).

There are differences (and similarities) between the many types of authoritarianism and totalitarianism, but they all have at least one thing in common: they require the use of force.

I will now refer to the Civil War as “The First War of Democrat Treason”.

      1. Attmay,

Thanks for your long reply. Isn’t if funny how everyone who joins the revolution thinks that they’ll be part of the two percent left in control. Why is history so doomed to repeat itself? This is why they revile home schooling, and want to control every word that goes into the textbooks.

        1. Ad rem,

          You’re welcome.

Regarding the textbooks, social conservatives are not without sin. They are constantly working to get religious dogma taught in public schools as fact. (In addition, they work tirelessly to impose the doctrines of their religion on the general population by getting them made into law.) They appropriated my father’s work on information theory and the origin of life and distorted it to re-brand Creationism to Intelligent Design. Intelligent Design is religious dogma, not science. As my father pointed out in 2005, the non-material genome, which is defined as the information digitally recorded in DNA, performs all the duties of the Intelligent Designer and also fills in all the gaps in the fossil record. What should be taught about the origin of life is how we now know that it is unknowable by any means, past, present or future. In addition, Dad has pointed out that scientists have researched Darwin’s theory of evolution sufficiently that now it should be called Darwin’s Laws of Evolution, just as quantum theory has been upgraded to the laws of quantum mechanics.

          1. Cynthia,

Your point is well taken. My comments regarding textbooks concern primarily the accurate portrayal and inclusion of historic events and the interpretation of the Constitution.

  2. Considering that it is always the revolutionaries who are the first to be killed after a leftist revolution takes hold, it would almost be worth it to see these dumb somnobeeches put up against the wall or sent to the camps to be worked to death, all the while thinking, like in the old Soviet Union, “if Obama only knew!”
    .-= Peter´s last blog ..Kinda Dopey =-.

    1. Peter,

It is remarkable how well George Orwell in Animal Farm described the progression from utopian promises of equality and security to the totalitarian reality of the puzzled, idealistic animals in the barn working themselves to death for the luxuries of the more equal animals in the house, whose only goal all along was to gain power by any means necessary, be it guile or force. And, as you recall, Obama’s bestest friends, Bill Ayers and Bernadine Dohrn, gleefully planned that come the revolution when Leftism reigned supreme, that they would have work camps to re-educate the populace and kill the 20 million or so people they estimated would resist re-education.
