Scientists Hide Global Warming Data | ||||
|
My father told me all along that global warming was a hoax, but did I listen? Not until last fall when I did more reading. I studied enough geology in college to know we have long warming and cooling cycles anyway, but finally I had to admit that sunspots and ocean currents have more to do with the earth’s temperature than human activity.
Since then, the more I look at altruistic and idealistic causes embraced by the Left, the more I see the Animal Farm paradigm: the idealists and their positive cause will be deceived and hijacked by charming, plausible sociopaths who then appropriate the efforts, money and power of the idealists to their own ends. So what started out as a movement to make our air and water clean was hijacked for its usefulness in thwarting capitalism and enriching both the small cabal of scientists who got grants for “global warming” research and the brokers in carbon credits.

H/T Instapundit and Big Hollywood. Michelle Malkin has a comprehensive, yet concise, take-down of global warming and the recent revelation of e-mails showing that it is a deliberate hoax.
I’m having a hard time talking to my brother about this. He’s a philosopher, and specialises in neuroscience. He knows a lot about theory of knowledge and the scientific method, Karl Popper is one of his heroes, but he still can’t see the evident: that these so-called scientists twisted all the process to suit their needs and that there is very little science in what they’ve done. He told me something like “goes both ways. Let’s look who is pushing this scandal forward”. I gave up. I looks like the brainwashing worked very well.

Dr. sipmac,
In the last couple of days I’ve seen at least one “follow the money” post that describes the flood of grant money going to global warming research, provided it supports the hypothesis/dogma of warming. And that’s just one example of how oceans of money are involved in this, which all will dry up when it’s accepted that this was the biggest hoax of all time.
But also, this started as the movement for clean air and clean water in the 1960’s and ’70’s. Then the Lefties realized they could tie companies and entire industries up in knots with global warmings demands. They could use an idealistic cause against capitalism.
Since fear-mongering and alarmism were frequently used by the believers/con artists of global warming, and your brother is a neuroscientist, ask him what centers of the brain are shut off by fear. I don’t remember the name, but as I recall, it’s the center for judgment and being able to consider evidence. So fearmongers deliberately use fear to shut off the ability of their marks to doubt them or question them.

I never claimed any expertise in whatever those glow bull warming dudes were selling. I did always know enough to wonder if Algore wasn’t smart enough to manage to graduate from Divinity School that I wasn’t going to bet money on his suddenly being smart enough to be anything but a cheap grifter.
I have also noticed that the glow bull warming types never did much to adjust their own lifestyles, they just wanted me to live in a hovel, wearing rags. Meanwhile, look at that clown in the UN jetting thousands of miles to watch a Cricket match (whatever that is, I tried to watch a piece of a match when I was in Hong Kong in the ’60s, decided beer was better) and meanwhile he’s talking about taxing everyone’s travel.
I’m following Prof Reynolds, I’ll believe it’s a crisis when the people saying it’s a crisis start acting like it’s a crisis. What we have, instead, is people like Gov Ah-nuld of California going home to the LA area “pert near” every night while working in Sacramento.
Nope. I’m not playing.

Money quote:
Amusingly, Wegman showed that replacing Mann’s principle components estimates with repeated samples of random white noise continued to produce the same hockey stick shape.
This pretty much means that no matter what data you feed into the beastie, a hockey stick will come out the other end. Maybe a carefully constructed data set that shows a hockey stick going the opposite way might come out a flat line.
I remember being told in elementary school (circa 1968’ish) that I would die in the inevitable Ice Age. Scared the hell outta me, like the AGW’ers are doing now. That slowly died out when they couldn’t cash in on it. 20 years later, AGW has become a religion for it’s believers. They absolutely do not want their religious foundation dispelled. Meanwhile, I relish every single moment of this unraveling.
I have a research science background. Despite the current spin by these “scientists,” THERE IS NO LEGITIMATE REASON FOR WHAT THEY DID. Nor is there any credible explanation for the phrases in their emails, despite their contrary spin to the media.
For those who have trouble understanding the violation that this is, in terms of science, here are a couple of analogies: a lawyer (think Bill Clinton), lying under oath, when he has sworn to uphold the integrity of the judicial system. Or, you discover that the child therapist you’ve been taking your teenager to see has been having sex with her, completely violating the therapist-patient relationship. Or you find out that your sister or best friend is cheating on you with your husband.
All of the above are violations of basic standards of behavior and trust. I knew AGW was baloney, but I thought it was a bunch of researchers blinded by what amounted to a religious belief system, which is bad enough in the context of science, which should be based on fact. This is significantly worse: purposefully cooking the data, peer-reviewing each other’s bunk science, and deliberately setting out to destroy the reputation of those who disagree with you. Oh, and defrauding taxpayers to the tune of hundreds of millions of dollars.
I feel like I need to shower every time I read more about their treachery.
