Who knew? Godless gays apparently not so godless.
“Creating Change” is an annual conference organized by the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force.
Oh, and a reminder: the modern movement for gay equality began on Oct. 6, 1968, with the founding of the Metropolitan Community Church by gay Baptist evangelical minister, Troy Perry.
The “all gays are godless” meme is one of the silliest out there — yet, because it is pushed by so many on the Tweedledee-and-Tweedledum Left and Right, it is one of those hardest to die.
It suits the purposes of both the statist Left and Right. Keeping us out of the churches is necessary to the Right, as it keeps us away from real power and from any genuine chance to change hearts and minds. It is equally important to the Left, who erroneously sees religious faith as nothing but an oppressive force and wishes to destroy it.
Big-government statists are indeed Tweedledee and Tweedledum. They were separated at birth. Far from being rivals — as their pretense demands they represent themselves — they are actually partners. They may be two different teams, but they both play in the same league.
LGBT folks need to wake up to this. And we need to recognize that we belong in church as much as anybody else does. It is a part of our own heritage as much as it is theirs.
