At this point, official “climate science” stopped being a science. In science, empirical evidence always trumps theory, no matter how much you are in love with the theory. If theory and evidence disagree, real scientists scrap the theory. But official climate science ignored the crucial weather balloon evidence, and other subsequent evidence that backs it up, and instead clung to their carbon dioxide theory — that just happens to keep them in well-paying jobs with lavish research grants, and gives great political power to their government masters.

And why will it continue? Again, follow the money:

We are now at an extraordinary juncture. Official climate science, which is funded and directed entirely by government, promotes a theory that is based on a guess about moist air that is now a known falsehood. Governments gleefully accept their advice, because the only ways to curb emissions are to impose taxes and extend government control over all energy use. And to curb emissions on a world scale might even lead to world government — how exciting for the political class!

Indeed. How extraordinarily unexciting for the proletariat who will be the ones stuck with the bill if these governments ever succeed in finding a way to pass the taxes they hope to impose and extend even more government’s control over energy.

While you’re listening to the CEOs of American oil companies being grilled by Congress today, remember all of this. They’re going to try to punish an industry that is vital to our economy and national security, and much of the desire to do that is based on this false “science” that has been ginned up by government itself as an excuse to control more of our energy sector, raise untold revenues for its use and to pick winners and losers. All based on something which is, according to Evans and other scientists, now demonstrably false.

The only value I can add is to caution my idealistic friends who believe in global warming that the economic policies that use global warming as their justification are destroyers of prosperity both for individuals and for nations — on purpose. The prosperity and well-being you wish to create in your own lives and for the world will be generated — but by pretty much everything you have falsely been told is the boogeyman by people who had only their own best interests at heart and the very darkest of ulterior motives.

This video actually is an amazingly good summary of the melting of the anthropogenic global warming hoax now re-branded as “climate change,” which seems like a safe enough position to hold since change is what the climate does all the time.

I have pretty much recovered from shoveling the record snowfalls we received here in northern Maryland. About all I’ve done this month is prepare for, deal with and recover from the snowfalls. I have a lot of things to catch up on. I haven’t finished working my way through all the comments that accumulated while I was too tired/sore to deal with them. In addition, I wanted to write a post explaining my objections to Gay Patriot and various positions taken by Daniel Blatt, but CPAC starts on Thursday and goes until Saturday evening, Feb. 18-20. I have to prepare for that so it looks like I won’t be able to get that done until after CPAC. I see from the comments to my post on Gay Patriot West that Gay Patriot, Bruce, the founder of the blog, is irritated with me, too. I know Bruce and I are scheduled to be in at least one meeting together, pre-CPAC on Wednesday. This is a discussion that SHOULD be taking place in the open between our blogs. I intend to continue it.

And really — how is it possible there are gay men who have NOT had an outraged lesbian grab them by the shoulders, rant at them, and shake them until they rattle in order to raise their consciousness on some issue? It’s. What. We. DO!

However, I do want to note how much the reactions of Gay Patriot (Bruce) and Gay Patriot West (Daniel Blatt) contrast sharply with those of Stacy McCain, my dear friend and frequent antagonist on the issues of homosexual equality, gay marriage and feminism. Really, click my categories “Stacy McCain of The Other McCain,” and “Robert Stacy McCain” and see what a true professional and good sport he is. It won’t be hard to figure out why I stick up for Stacy, regardless of our opposition on issues we each hold so close to our hearts.

By the way, I plan never to have a public fight with Hill Buzz because our communication is excellent so I would never have to, I adore the Hill Buzz boys, we’ve been supportive of one another from the get-go, and when they criticize the gay community, they do it pretty much from the same place I do — it’s regarding specific people from their past or present. Also, when Kevin, et al., write, they unite reason, love, passion, duty and a fine sense of right and wrong. Their posts always are worth reading because I always learn something I didn’t know and wanted to learn, or my heart is warmed or I get a laugh — like their post today on the meltdown of the religion of anthropogenic global warming with a funny illustration featuring Al Gore.

For my dear gentle readers who are concerned about my father, my awesome nephew will be looking after him when I am in Washington, D.C., at CPAC, assisted by our kitties.

Yesterday, 12/12/09, was Obama's previous lowest approval rating at -16.

Today Obama built on his previous new lowest approval rating of -16 yesterday to plummet to his newest new low of -19 today. I wonder what is making American voters so testy with Obama — so “ungovernable.” (Hee-hee-hee-hee-hee!)

Wasn’t getting the Nobel Peace Prize in a box of Cracker Jacks on Dec. 10 supposed to burnish Obama’s image and plump his popularity? Or did Americans listen to his acceptance speech and conclude the Obama Doctrine for peace and war is to do — what? In that speech, didn’t he really announce that he has no idea how to intimidate foes who have no fear of being called RAAAAACISTS?

Perhaps it was the revelation that the Senate’s version of the healthcare reform legislation will have lifetime caps on care. So, there will not be much call for death panels, after all. You will hit your limit and then you’re Soylent Green. Just lie back, think of America and all that carbon you won’t be exhaling any more.

Or, perhaps word is getting around that Obama’s pledge to skyrocket energy costs for every consumer and business with cap-and-trade legislation is founded on the biggest scientific hoax in history and that it was perpetrated with the intention of destroying capitalism while enriching the hoaxers. I hate when that happens.

Iowahawk understands statistical analysis — something to do with his day job and all — and his column this week is educational, rather than humorous, on the subject of Climategate. He walks his readers through the process of deriving the famous “hockey stick” graph, which purports to prove global temperatures are rising at such a catastrophic speed that only the immediate destruction of capitalism and the global economy will appease the Sun God and cool the planet. This will be catnip for my scientist friends, but you should be able to follow everything if you have an average understanding of high school math and science.

Oh, and I know a week or so ago everyone was linking “Hide the Decline,” which is a parody based on “Dragging the Line” from Tommy James and the Shondells, but I love it and I can’t resist adding it here even if I’m late:

My father told me all along that global warming was a hoax, but did I listen? Not until last fall when I did more reading. I studied enough geology in college to know we have long warming and cooling cycles anyway, but finally I had to admit that sunspots and ocean currents have more to do with the earth’s temperature than human activity.

Since then, the more I look at altruistic and idealistic causes embraced by the Left, the more I see the Animal Farm paradigm: the idealists and their positive cause will be deceived and hijacked by charming, plausible sociopaths who then appropriate the efforts, money and power of the idealists to their own ends. So what started out as a movement to make our air and water clean was hijacked for its usefulness in thwarting capitalism and enriching both the small cabal of scientists who got grants for “global warming” research and the brokers in carbon credits.

A funny thing happened on the way to getting the oceans to fall:

The 87,492 page bill — officially designated as the American Patriotic Renewal Act of 2009 for Carbon Reduction, Energy Independence, Heathy Climate, Sustainable Job Growth, Adorable Puppies, and Earthly Paradise — is a keystone in President Obama’s first-year legislative agenda, and was originally anticipated to get swift congressional passage.

Social conservatives and Republicans who support the propaganda that Intelligent Design is scientific are destroying the credibility of the G.O.P. as a supporter of the scientific method, just as Charles Johnson says today (and almost every day) at Little Green Footballs. This matters because fiscal conservatives must use science to defeat the specious science used to support the fear-mongering that is the campaign against global warming, now re-branded at climate change. Like changing isn’t what the climate DOES. The G.O.P. must drop its support of faith masquerading as science in order to be credible in its support of the real science regarding the climate and the environment.

However, I have to admit, legitimate scientists are not helping very much to burnish the reputation of science because their search for the origin of life is based on the complete failure to grasp simple principles of coding theory. The short version of the explanation is that you cannot look back from a 20-letter alphabet of amino acids to a 64-letter alphabet of codons. This means the origin of life is an axiom of biology just as much as the origin of matter is an axiom of physics, chemistry, astronomy, etc. The origin of life is unknowable. That is what should be taught about the origin of life. All of the scientific scenarios for the origin of life that currrently exist and that may be proposed in the future are based on faith just as much as Intelligent Design and Creationism and must therefore be rejected as well.

I hate wind turbines and the entire wind power gestalt with the fusion-powered hatred of a thousand suns. They are eyesores, expensive and unreliable. And I don’t think anyone has studied the impact they will have on bird and insect populations. This is especially important when bees are affected. They pollinate our food. If they get sucked into the vortices created by the wind turbines, this is going to affect our food supply and not in a good way.

I take the plight of the poor bees to heart for an unusual reason. My father loves wilderness paddling — he is certified by the Explorers Club of New York and the Canoe-Kayak Federation of Canada as the first person to lead an expedition the entire length of the Whale River in Quebec. I only got to go on one of his wilderness river trips, which was on the Missinaibi River in Ontario. There’s a rapids about five miles south of Mattice with a little island that divides the river. My father tried to take me through the right side of the island, which was class IV water — above my ability, but he thought he could get us through. However, I wasn’t strong enough to paddle upstream far enough to be able to turn the decked C-2 (two-person canoe) to the chute we had targeted. The Missinaibi grabbed us and we almost broached on a rock. I will never forget what it was like to be powerless against that current. That’s why I identify with the bees getting overwhelmed by the wind vortices from the turbines.
