One of the worst proposals being floated in the Blair House summit is that doctors should be paid by results instead of the number of services they perform.

Not to mention a doctor can do her best and the patient can STILL DIE. I have no complaints about the doctors who treated my father's non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. It wasn't their fault he died. Should they have been penalized financially?

People get sick. Doctors try to heal them. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. That's how things work, unfortunately. Human beings are not machines.

Cynthia,

Don't talk to me about weight loss! The last time I went on a diet I lost 49lbs... back in my forties. I played competitive tennis for 20yrs., then upon having to go through knee surgery, I've gained it all back at 62. It took me two years to do it, but it was EASY!

Well just yeaterday, I started another "Big Diet"....900 calories per day....just breakfast, and then a light dinner. The first week is the hardest...pray for me. ;-)

ps. I do remember that meditation was a big help the last time too.

Ad rem,

Thank you for the compliment about my hair -- it's naturally curly, a genetic gift from my mother, who was extremely beautiful in her youth.

DaTechguy called me to let me know he was posting the video, but I haven't seen it yet. I've been cringing from the photos of me on the blogs of my compatriots -- the weight piled on from the sleep apnea and I've got to get to work to take it off.

Cynthia

P.S.

I just saw DaTechguy's interview of me and it was not as bad as I remembered.

I just wanted to let everyone know about the video of you being interviewed over at DaTechguy's Blog. Your last answer was most diplomatic too!

ps. Where can I get me some of that curly hair? It's adorable and looks like a breeze to take care of.
