Ad rem,

I just tried the People's Cube RSS feed and it breaks my newsfeed, probably because it has too many posts in it. I don't feel like writing them to suggest shortening it right now. Meanwhile, IMAO is out, Treacher gets a reprieve.

Thanks for the good wishes for my father!

Cynthia,

I Love the People's Cube, although Treacher's just starting his new blog on the 11th. I rarely go to IMAO unless linked.

Thanks for accepting the input. I hope others respond to your enquiry as well.

ps. Give my best wishes to your father. :-)

Kelly,

I enjoyed your comment very much!

The class is filling me with hope and enthusiasm for myself individually and for the future of America and the world. I feel a great sense of duty to share it. I feel like Buffy the Vampire Slayer in the last episode of the series -- she and the Scooby Gang closed the Hellmouth by bringing light to dispel the darkness of Hell. That's how you get rid of darkness -- you bring in the light.

Dear Cynthia,

Thank you for making the capitalist point about this wonderful cat post - you are right. A free, capitalistic economy puts no bounds on creativity. It's sites like this - so simple, yet so entertaining, fun, clever and delightful - that give me hope for America. It's a reminder of how creative and innovative (and funny!) Americans are. No Marxist president and his America-hating administration can change that. No one man can suppress centuries-long traditions of vitality and inspiration. The spite and arrogance of a few are, ultimately, no match for the cleverness and resilience of the great people of this great country. I love that you saw this in this hilarious cat post. The American people will prevail.

As for Steele - you are absolutely correct. It is a tragedy that at such a crucial moment, the RNC lacks a leader who can lead the GOP to certain sweeping victories in November (he's too busy saying the GOP isn't ready to lead...WHAT?!? Go write another book no one will read). My prayer is that someone with influence and a vision will fill the void he has created. At this moment, when there are SO many corrupt events and and SO many corrupt people to keep tabs on (to keep my arsenal of facts full on the quest to wake up more and more Americans), I find myself increasingly needing to downplay new issues b/c 1) it's hard to remember them all, and 2) following all this stuff can be so emotionally taxing and beyond disillusioning.

I am very very much looking forward to reading future posts about your class. I still have not yet quite figured out how to manage all that's going on and direct it all into articulate, non-offensive, non-emotional, non-preachy talking points to try to turns hearts and minds. Thank you - for taking the time to take a class and then share your knowledge with us.

Ok, sorry for bothering you with another long comment! Enjoy your evening.

p.s. Love #3 on the cat post - that little girl is hysterical!

Ad rem,

IMAO and Jim Treacher have been a bit slow lately -- what's your opinion on swapping one of them out for The People's Cube in my humor list? (Others in addition to Ad rem are welcome to comment, or suggest alternatives.)

Ad rem,

Thank you. I will have to have a chat with my Web host and also do more to ensure the site loads more quickly. One possibility is to do screen caps of the photos now served from icanhazcheeseburger.com so they are served from my Web host. I'll link them back to icanhazcheeseburger.com, though, so they'll still get the citation. I'll see if I can get to that tomorrow.

Did you notice in the "30 most important cats of 2009" lists ROL Cats? I LOVE that blog and have it listed in my newsfeed, even though no new photos have been captioned for almost a year. I just think its satire on totalitarianism is delicious, sobering and inspiring all at once.

Cynthia,

I'm afraid the whole site is usually slow to come up compared to the other sites I frequent, ie. Hot air, Ace of Spades, RSMcCain, Michelle Malkin, etc. However, this time it seemed to be about 50% improved. I know the right side is always a little slow, but that's because of all the yummy content! BTW, I like the way you feature not only the links, but their headlines as well. Gotta love the product of a well-organized mind!

Kelly,

I'm so glad you loved the cat link and the Hall & Oates cat. To me, these photos and videos and the Web sites to host them represent everything that is good about capitalism -- they arise from playfulness, joy and love and manage to create wealth by multiplying these qualities in others. Totalitarian economies would never approve such nonsense!

Also, these recent gaffes by Steele are revelatory of a man who has no clue whatsoever about what his job. As such, in this year when the fate of our country hangs in the balance, to have such a clueless man with his hand on the levers of power and money that Republican candidates need to prevail is a travesty. We've GOT to get someone competent to replace him.

And yes, I WILL keep up the recruiting -- thank you! Also, the reason I'm taking the class is so I can write about this subject, so you will definitely be hearing about it!

1) When you typed "I’m sorry for the light posting this week" - prior to finishing the sentence, I interpreted the light as meaning silly, un-serious, referring to this downright fantastic cat link. I realize you meant you're busy this week - BUT in terms of a silly link, thank you. While I am so damn relieved to put 2009 behind us and usher in the year of revolution, we still have a tough fight ahead. All moments of levity are appreciated. All moments of levity that include Hall & Oates? With a cat on the piano?! I mean come on, could it get any better?

2) Steele is such a joke. I'd be worried about the damage he could do to the GOP's cause - except that I have never met anyone who takes him seriously. So long as this is largely true, he'll be more like a bad sideshow that people just ignore. Go away, Steele! Let the adults handle this.

Cynthia, keep up the good recruiting work! And we aren't going anywhere - hope your class finishes up nicely!
