Much like Elvis, he did it to himself. Lot's of people have wierd upbringings that don't make happiness or maturity easy, but they don't diddle children. What I find most interesting is all the people talking about "how his death affected me". "How I Feel" How I feel about his music." There are more Is and me's in those statements to the media than in an Obama speech. Meanwhile Li'l Kim is aiming a missile at Hawaii, Congress is sinking the economy and the slaughter continues in Iran.
